How we protect members
Every photo reviewed
Every photo is reviewed by a person before it can appear on a profile. Photos that are immodest or not of the member are declined.
Privacy controls
Choose what each detail shows. Surname, phone number and exact city are never shared without your consent.
Two-step verification
Add a second step when signing in, so your account stays yours.
Verified members
Members are verified to help make sure people are who they say they are.
Block and report
Block anyone at any time, and report behaviour that worries you. Reports are looked at by our team.
We never ask for money
Ghotok Gate will never ask you for money by message. If any member asks you for money, do not send it and please report them.
Meeting safely, with family involved
- Involve your family or wali from the start, and let them know who you are speaking to.
- Keep conversations in the app until you both feel ready to share contact details.
- When you meet, meet in a public place with family present, and arrange your own travel.
- Never share bank details or send money, and trust your instincts if something feels wrong.
Sensitive information
Religion and ethnicity are special category data under UK GDPR. We only process them with your explicit consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. See our draft privacy notice for more detail.
